Dear Yahoo! The World Loves You … Not

Yaho! Publisher Network SUCKSCheck out this email that Adrian from PC Doctor recieved from Yahoo! in regards to thier Yahoo! Publisher Network (BETA) … PC Doctor

Oh and by the way, just a small thing: he’s never had any Yahoo! ads on his blog. ;)

In the email, his account has been “terminated” because he “breached” the terms because … wait for it … because visitors outside of America clicked on Yahoo! Ads - a big No No from that global company … Yahoo!

How dare he attract readers from around the world. Damn you people of the b’sphere. When will you learn: When someone doesn’t want you Just. Go. Away!

So … au revoir, arrivederci, adiós, Auf Wiedersehen, ????? ?????, goed tot ziens and in American: Good Bye Yahoo!

But it’s okay. If he’s a good boy and “eliminates” non-U.S. … they’ll have him back…

Please note that it is possible that we may welcome you back to the program after the beta period, provided that you take steps to eliminate non-U.S. traffic from clicking on your Yahoo! contextual ads.

Done! Just above your Yahoo! Ads place this little disclaimer: “To non-U.S. readers, Yahoo! wants you to Fuck Off and stay away from clicking their ads!” That means you England, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, New Zealand, India, Greece, Germany and the rest of you lot.

I think I fully understand now why Google has overtaken Yahoo! and left it in the dust.

Messrs Yahoo,
Welcome to the Internet and the Blogosphere - by the way, did you know it’s a global thing? Yup it is. How about this for an idea: rather than banning someome for OMG attracting non-U.S readers and clickers - how about quietly auditing said clicks out. It might make you look less stoopid.

BTW, I’ve just thought of Yahoo’s new slogan: “Yahoo!…doing it’s best to eliminate non-U.S traffic”
