JESSE LINGARD SIGNS NEW DEAL

Manchester United have extended the deal with Jesse Lingard.


The club and the player’s rep agreed to a four-year deal with an option of an extra year. The new deal will see Lingard earn three times his wages in the range of £100,000 a week.

Lingard had a year on his former deal before both parties agreed to extend it. The home-grown talent joined the club’s academy when he was seven years. He developed with the youth team, getting his first pro deal in 2011.

The 24-year old established himself in the first team under former manager Louis van Gaal. His previous experiences at Leicester City, Birmingham City, Brighton and Derby County helped him grow. He had his debut in the senior team against the Swans on the opening day of the 2014/15 season. Since then he has gone on to play 70 times and scoring 11 goals.

Jurgen Klopp Disappointed with Lack of January Signings So Far

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that the club has been working extremely hard behind-the-scenes in order to strengthen the squad in the January transfer window.


However, he has surprisingly claimed that it has been very difficult to attract players to Anfield. It comes as a surprising statement considering that the club are challenging for the league title this season. Liverpool have slipped in recent weeks with goals against the likes of Sunderland and Manchester United before losing against Swansea this weekend, and one of the important reasons appears to be the absence of Sadio Mane.

The Senegalese international is away on international duty at the 2017 African cup of Nations. An early exit from the competition for Senegal would help Mane return back from international duty as soon as possible. Even though it may take him on the couple of weeks in order to hit the ground running, Mane’s return would be a major boost. Abou Diaby has finally made his way away from Arsenal

Abou Diaby has finally made his way away from Arsenal, a club where he spent so many frustrating seasons.

The 29-year old playmaker has joined Olympique de Marseille on free transfer.

While, he is quite excited about the new chapter of his career that’s about to open, he is also quite regretful of the fact that he could not prove himself as a player at the Emirates Stadium.

He stayed over there for quite a long period, but, regular injury setbacks just did not let him settle down.

In 9 years, Diaby just played 125 league games in Arsenal t-shirt.

He had been seen as a potential superstar when he was signed back in 2006 and upon his arrival, it was believed he would turn Arsenal into quite a force, but, not even a single season went by in which Diaby put on the kind of show that was expected off him.

Alan Pardew has said that his team were too negative for in FA Cup

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has said that his team were too negative for their own good in the FA Cup match against Liverpool.

The London team were hoping to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in a season where there has been numerous upsets. The likes of Chelsea and Manchester City have already dropped out of the running after defeats against Bradford City and Middlesbrough respectively.Palace were feeling extremely confident ahead of the match with Liverpool given that the tie was Selhurst Park where they have been very strong in recent months. The form has also improved substantially after the arrival of Alan Pardew.

For long periods of the match against Liverpool, it looked likePalace would create another upset and reach the quarter-finals. The team were leading 1-0 through an early goal from Fraizer Campbell. However, the early goal proved to be the undoing for the home team after they sat back in the second half because of the advantage. Daniel Sturridge had looked threatening in the first half and he madePalace pay with an equaliser in the 49th minute.
