Trying out WordPress 2.1 - First Thoughts: A Bit of a Yawn

Have just downloaded and installed WordPress 2.1 - playing with it … though there’s not much to play with.
It’s a bit of a Yawn.
The Dashboard is as boring as ever. It should have been thoroughly revamped to let users really get the most out of it.
The image uploading feature is slightly better - a few more options, but still too clunky for my liking.
AutoSave of posts is the big winner.
But that’s about it - unless I’m missing something else.
I’m hoping all plugin authors quickly update so that we can customize WordPress to our liking - because plugins are what make a fairly bland WordPress install into something great.

Just go get the ImageManager plugin, it is way better. Haven’t tried it out with 2.1 though…

Autosave is of zero interest to me, I’ve long since stopped using the WP admin interface for posting, it’s all BlogDesk for me, much easier way of doing thing.
